A big thank you...

ARTEX regretfully announces the departure of Mrs. Iris Tzachili from its Board of Fellows.

Mrs. Tzachili, an emeritus professor of prehistoric archaeology at the University of Crete, was a founding member of ARTEX, along with Youlie Spantidaki and Eliza Polychroniadou, and contributed decisively to the establishment of the Centre from the position of President and later on Vice President.

This team’s collaboration achieved, through the study of archaeological finds and the publication of the periodical edition Η Αράχνη / Arachne, to dynamically promote textile archaeology and the research of archaeological textiles in Greece to both the scientific and the general public.

With a big thank you, ARTEX will continue this work through the research projects in which it participates (Project Lefkandi, The Fabric of My Life, Euroweb), the publication of Arachne, its further activities and of course the assistance of its members.
